Windows Me released
Microsoft has released a new OS, called
Windows Me (Millennium Edition). But do you really need a new Windows?
This review of Windows Me is what I think about it, nothing more.
Two versions
Windows Me is in two versions (full and upgrade version). I recommend
to buy the full version.
Starting Windows Me
When I start Windows Me it runs much faster. It took under 1 minute
for Windows Me to start.
The network in Windows Me
Here's the silly thing, if you haven't a password for your network,
then you can't see your partner. So you need a password, so
you can see your partner. Bad thing, Microsoft.
The looks
The looks is from Windows 2000. But not as advanced as Windows
2000. Here's some pictures in Windows Me (Swedish version):
Windows Me or Windows 2000
Windows Me is the right choice for all home jusers. Are you running
a company, then Windows 2000 is the right choice. I do not recommend
Windows 2000 for the home jusers, because the errors when installing
old software's. That's why Microsoft released Windows Me for us home
jusers.
Windows Me, a must?
Windows Me isn't a must. The new software's that follows
with the Windows Me install can be downloaded for free on Microsoft's
homepage. Here's the new software's with the Windows Me:
MediaPlayer 7.0 can download
MovieMaker 1.0 not sure
Internet Explorer 5.5 can download
DirectX 7.1 not sure
